Frank Bruno MBE our proud Chairman and long time supported of the Presidents Sporting Club and Essex Disabled Sports Foundation took a step into an a ring that was full of some of the Britain's and Ireland's leading boxing legends on August 15th 2009. Frank Bruno MBE was one of Nine stars of British and Irish boxing enter the arena for a celebrity edition of "The Weakest Link"!! The line-up includes such legends of the fight game as Barry McGuigan, John Conteh, Steve Collins, James DeGale and current world title-holder Carl Froch. Frank proved not to be the weakest link my seeing it through to the final bout, where he won the prize fund of £12,800 and saw Frank Bruno donate this to us here at Presidents Sporting Club and Essex Disabled Sports Foundation.... All of us here at the Presidents Sporting Club and Essex Disabled Sports Foundation would like to thank Frank very much for his very generous donation and for putting up with Anne Robinson for a few rounds... |

The President's Sporting Club held their latest Gentlemen’s Boxing Evening at the Manor of Groves Hotel on 1st March 2010. The evening was a great success. There were 11 bouts of amateur boxing which were all of a very high standard. Celebrity guests included; Sir Henry Cooper, John Conteh, Charlie Magri and Billy Walker. A total of over £8,000 was raised during the evening. The next Gentlemen's Boxing Evening will be held on Monday 1st November 2010 again be at the Manor of Groves Hotel, near Sawbridgeworth. Tickets are now available at a cost of £50 per person. The cost includes a fabulous 3 course meal which is served at ringside, top quality boxing and a charity auction. There is also the opportunity to meet some of the UK's Boxing Legends on the night, so do not forget the camera. |

Karen Hobbs, who arranges the Sports Experience Day in Thetford for the Presidents Sporting Club and Essex Disabled Sports Foundation, will be organising the first of what we hope will be many events. This event has been postponed.
